hatchling drowning

Ok so I have heard that the baby in the egg can drown with to much moisture or what not. I am wondering if they did drown or end up dying in the egg, how would you know? Would there still be the red veins in the egg even if the baby died?

If the baby dies, the egg will stop growing. It may look OK for several weeks, but eventually it will mold and/or shrivel. Sometimes babies die in the egg because of a deformity, not drowning.
