Do genetics have a part in the pattern that baby geckos have when they hatch? Why are some born with solid black heads and others have white spots, yellow marks and other weird marks?
Genetics have a play in every aspect of appearance of the geckos. The lineage and genetics of the parents will affect how the babies heads come out. The reason for differences is partly due to natural variation but also due to lineage and genetics of parents.
Thanks for the info. I just found it odd that you could have 10 babies hatch from one pairing and they could all have these weird cool marks on their head, in different ways but the 11th babiy can have a solid black one.
