Hatchling Lost Tail

Well CRUD CRUD CRUD !!!! I am not sure what to do but put neosporin on it. Wa moving a hatchling from yesterday to his new home out of the incubator and he yelled at me. Well i had turned the tub on its side and was touching him with my finger and next thing i know his tail is flicking around.

IS the best thing neosporin at this time and is there anything special i should be doing

im sorry just keep putin neosporin on it and it will heal fine my just lost its tail about 2 weeks ago and ive been clean it with a que tip and puting neosporin on it and its starting to grow back

That sucks! I allow each hatchling to crawl onto a halfed paper towel/toilet paper roll, and then I let them crawl into their new enclosure from the halfed tube--I don't even have to touch them until they've gained a decent amount of weight.

I'd keep away from the neosporin, i wouldn't risk the little one ingesting any of that stuff. You couldn't put an elizabethian collar on a hatchling Just keep it in super clean environment, and make sure its moist, but that it also completely dries out, every day.

I am so sorry that he lost his tail, but it should grow back rather nicely since he is so young :main_yes:

when he was born we did not expect him to live to start with. he was just laying there slow breathing compared to all the other ones. just something about him. then the tail came off which puts more stress on me to worry
