My scale measures in grams, not tenths of grams. At first I would weigh each hatchling in the container it's in when I bring it up from the incubator. They were all coming out at 3 gr. with an occasional 4 gr. so I stopped. I tend to weigh them when they seem to be growing well and also when they don't seem to be. Some of them bulk up very quickly and others seem to stall at 4 grams for a long time. I've had clutchmates get to 2-3 times the weight of each other. I don't know why. If their weight is that different I separate them but one can still grow more slowly.
I think a typical hatchling weighs in the neighborhood of 2-4 grams. This can depend on how long they incubated and how much of their yolk sack was absorbed during hatching.
I was just going to make a thread like this... I've hhatched six so far and at hatching they were 4/4, 3/3, 4/5. Now I was going to make a thread asking if it's normal for them to reach 30 grams in under two months? The first clutch hatched on June 10th and are 26/30 grams! The second clutch hatched July 8th and 9th and are 9/15 grams. Third clutch hatched July 31st and August 1st so they have only been weighed once.
EDIT: They're all Mack Snow Pastel het Bell x Blizzard. No giants...
