Due to a sudden temperature decrease (from 89F to 83F) during incubation, he was born with an eye deformity. His eyelid is shaped funny and I believe it may be causing irritation. He always keeps it closed. When I have gotten him to open it, the eyeball itself is very hard to see. It looks like there may be a little bit of extra mucous in his eye too.

So I'm pretty sure I'm going to take him to the vet to get a professional opinion, but I just wanted to see if anyone on here has dealt with a leo with this kind of thing? His other eye looks okay, except the pupil is kind of off center. It makes it look like he's always looking behind him. But he can see. Right now I've been taking a clean Q-tip and warm water to wipe away any excess mucous I see coming from his eye. It doesn't flow out of it, but when I wipe his eye lids you can see it inside. Do you think this is helping or hurting? I will try to use tapatalk to upload pics from my phone.

This is one of the more common leopard gecko deformities and I've had a few every year, though none this year. What I do for these guys is to house them on their own. Several times a day I drop my finger in clean water and put a drop on the eye. It helps to moisturize and clean the eye and seems to help them open it. I also hand feed if necessary. I have had these geckos, as they grow up, manage to keep their eyes open, eat independently and be adopted out. Good luck with it.
