Hi all, I've read some threads that hatchrite isn't so great... has anyone used Rephashy Superhatch? What results have you had? I'm currently using spaghnum or perlite on a little white grid thing (not sure what it's called). It works fine but I may switch if there is something better. Thanks in advance for your opinions :)

I use super hatch and it is very simple to set up. I use to soak it for 15 minutes then strain it for 30 minutes, to drain the excess water. Now I add water to a dish, add some super hatch and stir, I keep adding more super hatch until I have just a few pieces that are left dry in the mixture. Place the eggs in the container, seal it up and away I go. Takes less than half the time it use to.

I was having issues with the super hatch and drying out, but that was my fault for placing too big of holes in the container so the super hatch was unable to maintain the proper moisture levels due to the container not being able to contain the moisture. I have gone back to placing two 3/64" holes in my container and they super hatch is performing well again.

I've used superhatch for two seasons now and I really like it. I'm even using it in the SIM this season with no issues.:)

thanks for reminding me
super hatch sure looks like a product called turface which is bits of tumbled fired clay, they use it as a soil conditioner on base ball infields. I use it for my little amorphophallus plants, I just got 150lbs of the stuff and will have to do an egg trial. thought about it at the end of last season but forgot.

Yep same stuff, same with Aquatic Plant Soil (APS), super hatch is just smaller pieces.

I remember Allen saying that a while back, same stuff packaged in smaller quantities for hobby breeders that don't need a huge bag of infield conditioner/APS.

I think Allen also says that his product is less dusty too out of the bag.

Thanks for the replies everyone :) Will keep my eyes peeled for a bag of superhatch at the Daytona Expo.

Almost any one who sales Repashy products should carry it at the show

In my opinion both products are great... Any reptile product that actually does what it says it does is worth every penny in my opinion... I really like super hatch... Cant really go wrong with a Raphashy product...
