Dubias are probably the best, but I use mealworms sometimes because they are easy. Just make sure to dust them because they don't offer much in the way of nutrition.
I use mealworms for my leo's and superworms for my blue tongued skink and bearded dragon. I then order other insects for variety. Reptiworms, buttereworms, etc. I also hate crickets. I will not allow crickets or roaches in my house ever. So the various worms are it for me.
I've heard they can be a problem but I have had no problem with them. My adults get bored with mealworms though, so they are usually just for the babies.
My point was crickets and dubias are considered the most nutritious for them and they said neither were acceptable. My point is, if you've got the attitude that you won't have food for your pet in your house, you shouldn't have that pet.
It's not that I won't have the correct food in my house. I was just saying if there is something just as good or better than crickets I would love it. As it turns out since I have gotten my leopards and dragons my husband has gotten into the insects. He is presently attempting to breed both crickets and dubias so I guess I'll deal with both and my reptiles will have a varied diet.
