hatian curly tailed lizard

at my highschool one of the science teachers has a hatian curly tailed lizard (he says it is anyway). i dont know what it is, kind of spiky looking, reminded me of an armadillo lizard.
anyway
the lizard has stuck shed, 3 or 4 sheds worth, hasnt been heating, doesnt have heat, and was being kept on cedar chips, and on top of all that he dropped part of his tail and is trying to regenerate it.
im bringing home the little guy this week to try to help him.
i was wondering if anyone had any ideas to help?
i plan on doing a pedialyte soak, repta aid, jumpstart, shed ease, and slurry without leo vitamins.
ive got him a UTH and tile for his aquarium.
is there anything else i should do for him?

its good that your helping him but dont try and Do everything at Once (when it comes to giving meds) , it can just freak out his Weak system and make him even worst, so try doing a Max of 3 things. Or for the most part space it out. Make sure you get heat on him as soon as you can...Let him warm up.. Once he is try feeding him with Vitamins...if you cant get him to eat try Jump start and start off there.

he was being fed dog food, which he didnt eat.
and when they tried (after waiting a few months) to get the shed off they used a pocket knife to slice it off and cut his leg.
so heat, food, and jumpstart if no food.

If he still has shed on him, I think getting him a few nice soaks would be a priority and make sure he doesn't have any stuck in his eyes or around his mouth. It might affect how he can eat.

yeah. today during lunch i skipped and gave him a luke warm water soak. added a lil pedialyte. he drank it like there was no tomorrow. i got most of it off his feet, but theres still some on him. im doing the same thing tomorrow.

Same thing with my teacher but its a leopard geckos. I would like to help but what did you ask him? What if his eyes have sheds over them? How do you get these off? It happens to be my worst teacher too:main_thumbsdown:.

i just offered to care for the lizard so he could spend more time teaching.
warm water soaks and try rubbing gently
