i just purchased him yesturday and i might be giving him a little to much attention. but right now im using paper towels for bedding and his meal worms keep getting under it the crickets are fine but does anyone use the cal sand, thats the bedding he was in when i bought him so jk but say hi to idk his name yet mabey mario or yoshi from super mario lol throw some names out

ps. this is my first leopard gecko so any advis is GREAT

Very nice, looks like he's enjoying his lego fort!

Its advised to steer clear of any type of sand until they are more grown up, as it can be dangerous if too much is swallowed.

Very cute, I think Yoshi is a great name!

Calcium sand is a no-no. Places will try and tell you it's "ok" and that the granules are small enough for them to process...well when they get the geckos they are way too young, not to mention super tiny. I can't imagine anything but food being ok for them to process. Definitely stick to the paper towels.

As far a the mealworms getting everywhere...definitely invest in a little ceramic or glass dish. I have gotten all of mine at *****, and they work just fine. They are fairly cheap too...I think I got all of mine on sale for $2-something. Here is a picture of what I'm talking about...ignore the dirty glass. They get really excited when "hunting" the dish and throw calci-powder everywhere!
