So i have a massive custom built tank that has its own legs so its pretty much a piece of furniture and theres alot of room under there, now when i get bowser out hes happy for me to pick him up or whatever but the second he gets under the tank he will attack my hand or anything i get to fish him out with and its not a little aggressive its full blown black puffed out beard and he arcs his back and puffs his chest and belly out, and im sick him doing this so im thinking of blocking it off but will he do this to anyother spot in the room ? and are there ways to calm them once there that state of aggression ?

Thanks Jordan :)

Do you mean he is not comfortable or he is scared after he is out of his viv? Sorry I might be mis-understanding what your saying. If he freaks out after you let him run on the floor, I wouldn't give him that freedom until he is more calm with being out. If he seem scared when he is out try warping a towel around him kind of like a burrito and hold him close. Do this as much as you can. Also try taking him out of his viv when he is sleepy, another thing you can do is put a tee shirt in his viv so he associates your scent with something good. Good luck.

Its purely defensive, having something try and pull him out is like a predator trying to grab him.

Once they get wound up nothing you do can calm them down, id just put him back in his enclosure and let him chill out under his heat lamp.

Any dark enclosed spot in the room will most likely freak him out if you try to grab him, its just instincts.

Cheers-

I got my Beardie from a rescue situation where he had never been handled. He did the same thing yours is doing. He'd open his mouth, stick his tongue out, puff out and I swear I heard him hiss a time or two. Anyways, this isn't aggressive behavior. He's just scared and getting defensive.

Mine is fine now (6 months later) but sometimes he 'relapses' when he's in a certain spot in my living room that scares him.

What worked for me was holding my Beardie and not letting him down. This way, he felt more secure. You can also give treats, like superworms, near the spot he is afraid of.
