Hi all, just wanted to know if there are any problems that will arise if my gecko is not shedding properly.. And there are left over shed all over its body? Will it cause any health problems? Because I have a baby gecko having problem shedding and it is stressing me out.. Dunno if it will have any health issue if I left it with all the shed to let it learn to handle shedding..
Thanks in advance..

they can lose eyesite and toes and tails if shed isn't taken care of ...

you can help it shed..I would suggest soaking it for 20 mins a day..to help too..

I am currently helping it to shed, using the the tweezer to help it peel.. I am soaking him for sometime before helping him peel but the head one is still difficult.. Will they feel the pain when i help it peel..

I think if the skin is stuck really good it will hurt..but getting it wet seems to help. I have used a little coconut oil or olive oil to help too.

When I first brought Hera home, she had gone thru a pretty bad shed and had most of it still stuck to her body. Not whole sheets mind you, just little bits. I would give her warm soaks, and I sould also take q-tips and soak the end with water and gently rub the areas while she was soaking. I would have to do the qtip bit off and on, because she was still skittish from going from a breeder who travels from reptile show to show to home.

I think that's why he gave me such a good deal on her. lol.

But as other people said, just make sure there's moist hides available, check them several times a day. She's since shed since she came home and we haven't had any issues. ;)

Okay.. I will make sure the shed is moist so it will help with the shedding.. Hope it can get the shed on its head off...

I usually try to help my guys with that if they have issues. You imght get nipped a few times, but most of them don't hurt when they bit. lol. Eventually you get it.

try and use a q-tip instead of tweezers - make the q-tip wet in warm water and then pres it on the "problem-spots" and drag the wet q-tip over the spots also, that will help the stuck shed get of. If it stuck on toes I wet my fingers and use them to softly rub the shed of.

It MUST have a humid hide, and you must keep it moist at all times - you dont know if the little one use it at night when you sleep.

it will course severe problems if you dont get the sheed of - especially around eyes and toes.
