so today my parents surprised me with a leopard gecko after 6 months of research :D so the humidity is at 68% which i know is way too high but i don’t know how to make it lower ;w; also i have a thermometer (as shown in pictures) but i do t know if it’s reading the floor temps. how do i raise the floor temps? this is a VERY temporary tank, but we didn’t have enough time to get it all.
thanks! image.jpg

Congrats on your gecko. The thing you have to measure isn't really measuring anything useful. Here's my advice: don't worry about the humidity. As long as you're not misting the tank (where there will be high humidity and water droplets in the air) the gecko will be fine. Get a reptile thermometer (it doesn't have to be called that, but that's what they call it at the pet store) which is a digital thermometer with a probe. It usually costs less than $10 at the pet store. Put the probe near the hot side hide. If you're using an under tank heater, it's likely you're going to need a thermostat. The Zilla brand is less than $30 if you get it on Amazon.
