heat tape size

using the 32 quart what heat tape is the most effiecient at providing the gradient needed, 3",4",11". FYI this will be controlled through a thermostat.

4" is what I would use. I would recommend heat cable though. More even heat, pre-wired, and lesser chance of a fire.

well I am getting it from a place that pre wires it. I also will be putting it between aluminum tape to get an even temp.
