Leos need belly heat to properly digest their food. If he is healthy, going a week without food will not harm him. Just my opinion.

When I was waiting for my heat pad to arrive several weeks ago it was still fairly cold outside. I used a hot water bottle under the tank. I heated it up in the microwave. Not real hot. It kept the bottom of the tank warm for a few hours at a time.

In my case no car. And no bus that went near a pet store. I had no choice but to order online.

becuase i already ordered my heat tape..i see no point in wasting money to buy a uth if my heat tape is comming in a few days

What you can do until then is purchase a heating pad for humans (generally in the health section in Walmart) that have several settings. These things are great for emergencies in case if your UTH, tape, or whatever heating element goes out. I think they generally run between 20-30 bucks. It's just nice to have something on hand just in case.

We also still have some of our old heat lamps here and some bulbs too should we ever be in need.
