Heating/Lighting Question

Hey all,

I just recently purchased a leopard gecko and currently have a UTH heater because I know leos need the heat on their belly for proper digestion. However, while reading pages of information on these guys I hear people say you should or should not have a heat lamp of some sort during the day, is this required? I had a leopard gecko years back that was just fine with the UTH, but I want to make sure I do everything right this time around. I know they don't need any UVB, but I just wanted to see what people here on the forum do.

Thanks!:main_thumbsup:

My only concern is that the room temperature is below 70 degrees, should this be a concern? With that, I've read here on the forum that a CHE would work, but if I chose to do a Night-Glo bulb could I keep that on all the time?

If your house is below 70 you could try a very low wattage nightglo bulb to take the chill out of the air. I personally would use that over the CHE. Depending on the size of the enclosure, a 25 watt or 40-50 watt should be plenty. And yes, you can keep the nightglow bulb on all the time.
