I am trying to figure out the best way to heat the underside of my terrarium I tired using the flexibility heat rope but trying to control the heat temperature bothered me. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you are just trying heat one tank, then I would suggest a heat mat or heat tape. A heat mat would probably be best. The thing is that you will also need to buy a thermostat to control the temp. I would suggest a Hydrofarm thermostat.

I use UTH (heat mats) for my terrariums. You'll need a thermostat- a hydrofarm is the cheapest option, but a herpstat is probably the best.

There's really no reason to use a super expensive thermostat to heat one tank. I use a Herpstat on my rack and incubators but the UTH heating the tank where I keep my two normal leos is regulated with a $30 thermostat. I probably also would have been fine using a lamp dimmer ($7), but I spent the extra $23 to save myself the trouble of checking it all the time. The cheapo thermostat works fine.
