I have recently found out that one of my normal het for nothing hatchlings has an eye deformity.
Minor, though, still noticeable.
Funny, it took my husband to point it out to me. I have photographed this gecko dozens of times, and I handle him several times a week, and I NEVER noticed it until my husband pointed it out to me last night.

I have decided to adopt him out to a Pet Only home.
He cannot be bred, it would NOT be right to breed him, imo.

He is growing the same as my others, hunts well, eats well, and is full of personality, it's just his left eye is slightly smaller than his right eye.
He has an eyelid, but as I said, it's just one eye is bigger than the other.
It does NOT seem to cause any issue at all with his quality of life.

It's his left eye that is smaller:

Here's an over-the-top shot where it's more noticeable.

He is a sweet heart, and will make someone a great pet. If I do not adopt him out, I will gladly keep him, but I wanted to give someone else the chance to have this little one as a wonderful pet.

If you are interested in adopting this gecko for the fee of only the cost to ship him to you, please PM me.

I totally agree, and wish more people felt this way. Everyone is in denial right now about the overbites, tail kinks, and crinkled eyelids in their geckos being non-genetic. It always makes me laugh when someone says oh my kinked tail is non-genetic. Oh really did you prove that out? haha I know I sound like a jerk but oh well. :main_laugh:

One of my sex ed teachers told me a story that I think applies to this situation. She would give sex ed speeches to parents of teenagers, and the first question she would ask was- "How many of you think your son or daughter is having sex, raise your hand." (Nobody raises hands) "Now how many of you think that your neighbors teen is sexually active?" (Nearly whole crowd raises hand.) :main_laugh: Nobody wants to point the finger at themselves but that's not how problems get solved.

::steps off soap box::

I too hope he finds a nice home he looks like such a sweet boy! :)

Thanks, guys!
I, too, hope he finds a fabulous home.

I can provide as many pictures as one would like of this little guy (I LOVE taking pictures of my geckos anyway).

He comes from great parents that are total sweet hearts.

ADOPTION PENDING!!!

SQUEEEE!!!!

It's looking like "Bowie" is going to an awesome home!
I named him Bowie because David Bowie has two different eyes.
The young lady adopting him has agreed to keep his name.:D

This same young lady has purchased one of his half brothers from me, and she sends me regular updates. So I KNOW he's going to be going to a good home.

awwww!
My little Bowie.
