Just wanted to introduce myself real quick. It certainly is refreshing to find a good community of people. I recently stumbled upon this site in search of information for gecko care.

Most of my life growing up I have been a dog person (always loved them, still do). I have recently fell into the veteran category with a few slight disabilities, which unfortunately makes for caring for a dog responsibly a little difficult (especially considering a more of a fan of the bigger dogs like Golden Retrievers/labs/etc.).

Long story short, my fiancé introduced me to the idea of caring for a gecko. I had the pleasure of caring for a leopard gecko during the weekends for a few months and found the experience very enjoyable.

This past weekend I made the decision to get a couple for myself. Searching through classifieds I made arrangements with two separate owners who no longer could care for their gecko's and picked up two this weekend. I ended up with a third baby gecko by surprise (fiancé's doing).

I did not know gecko's can get this big. In fact one of them is quite the monster (almost as big as my hand, and ridiculously strong, feels like almost pure muscle), probably at least 4-5 times bigger than the one I originally cared for during the weekends.

So now I have 3 tank setup's .... and my study room is a lot more live with activity.

I will post pics later when I get my camera back from my friend. Also, hopefully, maybe when I do that, someone can help me identify what kind of gecko's they are (leopard? fat tail? car insurance salesman?)

If you havent figured out by now, I tend to talk a lot...

=) Thanks everyone...

Good news is I finally got my camera back from my friend.

Bad news, quote from friend "umm, yeah, about the battery charger....." /slap friend

Fortunately my co-workers and I all have the same camera (we're all gadget geeks) so I will borrow one of theirs for now. Hopefully i can get the pics up by tonight sometime.

Browsing through some of the various sites and pics I think I identified the big guy as a "Banana Blizzard"? possible a giant? (forgive me if I sound silly and am using names/terminology incorrectly. I'm new ^_^)

He is about 9" long head to tail. Mostly a pale white and a hint of yellow on the back of his body. pretty stocky as well... I guess It would probably be best to wait until I get pics up before trying to figure out what they are.

Ok, I need to get back to work. Apparently one of my co-workers thought it would be amusing to draw a chalk outline of a body in the carpet front of my office.

Funny indeed, until we realized that he used a stick of deodorant to draw it and it's not washing out of the carpet. /sigh

Greetings, another newbie here. I recently took in a crested gecko from some-one who could no longer take care of it. He joins a zoo that includes a black
lab mix, the inhabitants of a 75 gallon freshwater fish tank and the populations
of a 125 gallon marine tank.

Anyway this gecko is about 8 months old and about 5 inches long in a 29 gallon high tank. Since I've
him I've become hooked on geckos. I do have a question however, can I put any other
geckos-crested,leopard,tokay- in with without any problems? Thanks

From my understanding (at least from what I have read on the web) ...

Generally its not a good idea to house multiple reptiles together.. but if it is to be done .. it should only be of the same species (and even then, there are limitations)

So I would probably say the answer is that you cannot mix them. But I could be wrong.
