What's up with everyone? I'm new to this site and wanted to introduce myself. I have six crested geckos of different ages sizes and morphs if anyone would like to see just let me know. I also have two newly acquired leopard geckos that I have many questions about like behavior, eating habits, and UTH vs Light Bulb heating source and how the two might result in different behaviors, also weither it is best to house them alone or together (both are female). Any useful educated information will be greatly appreciated. And if anyone has any questions about caring for crested geckos i'm all ears. Thanks

Welcome, and some quick answers for you. With females it is ok to house them together as long as there is no bully behavior and you have enough hides for them. Usually UTH are better for leos in a tank because they need belly heat to aid digestion. Don't be concerned about size, get what is labeled for the size tank you have. They do heat the substrate a little beyond the dimensions of the UTH itself.

welcome to GF and there is so much info on these forums for you to learn from it will take a long time ot get thru..I have been here for over a month and still reading and learning new things all the time :p Good luck with your geckos, leo and crestie, leo males cannot be housed to gether but females can as Angelicka stated, belly heat a must three hides in viv and if housing 2 females together , long as they don't fight, have at least a 20L tank. at least 3 hides for them one moist/warm one dry/warm and one dry/cool...but more then 3 would be good so they have a plce to hide from eachother if htey want to be alone. So much more to learn about them and they are fascinating, funny lizards :D I have nothin to tell you of cresties as I do not have them but they are cool too :)

Thanks guys/girls for the info. I have a 40 gallon btw. I have one more day left to return the leopards so I am trying to just make sure that things are ok with them. One seems to be doing fairly well but the other I never see and I don't know if it has eaten I have a dish for meal worms that they showed no intrest in, but i have had two crickets disappear but I don't know who ate them. Maybe this is normal and I am just being to worried but I'd rather give them back then to kill them.

That's what I was thinking I really need to hear (read) that. I think everything should work out fine. How do you feel and UTH vs heat lights? I forgot about the chat room are you still in?
