Hello all,
I joined the forum to learn about all types of geckos, but mainly those from the genus Rhacodactylus and Correlophus. My wife and I have just one Crested Gecko. he was a rescue and wasn't taken care of well as a hatchling. He's three years old and half the size of normal Cresties, but he is health now and happy.
My wife and I have been considering setting up an enclosure for a breeding trio of Crested Geckos and another seperate enclosure for a pair of Gargoyle Geckos.
I have experience with corn snakes and ball pythons and their genetics are fairly straight forward, however I understand that Rhacodactylus and Correlophus are polymorphic and inherit their phenotype differently.
Is there any information within the forum or can anyone offer an explanation of their phenotypical inheritance?
For example, if I mate together a harlequin and a pinstripe, will the offspring be half harlequin and half pin or will they inherit one over the other? Not sure how this works with with these two types of geckos.
Thanks.
