I found this place purely by mistake. I was searching for info on raising mealworms. But in the end it worked out great cause theres like 20 pages worth of threads on the subject. Cant beat someones personal advise. Most articles you find online are just copy pasted to 40 different websites of the same info. I originally wanted to raise nightcrawlers for the bait industry but I really don't have the area i need for the scale I would like to raise. So I decided to go with mealworms. I was planning to sell them mainly to the bait industry but I really didn't know they were so heavily used for pets. I ordered 10k mealworms from NYworms. I bought a few containers from walmart. What I didn't plan on was needing so many containers so fast. They all turned to beetles within a month. I know have upgraded my shelving system to hold 40 containers and plan to build two more this coming week. I have alot of trial and error coming but with so many great people here to give advise really makes things so much better. Fingers crossed this batch will produce 1 million mealworms :)

Hi and welcome! Good luck with the mealworms. So do you have any reptile pets, or just the worms?

34 box turtles hopefully will be 40 if we get alot of eggs this year
2 Russian tortoise's

Hoping to get ahold of a few Aldabra Tortoise or African spurred tortoise this year. Wont be any time soon but perhaps in time maybe even some geckos.
