Hi Everyone!
My name is Kathy and I am married and a mother of two human children (almost 6 yr old son and 9 yr old daughter) and several non-human children; I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a goldfish, a horse (that I board), and my daughter's baby leo, Jackie. I am very excited to share that I am getting my own leo after falling in love with my daughter's first very own pet. I swear that Jackie recognizes our voices and I know she (we don't know for sure yet if she's a girl...grin) knows when it's dinner time! She looks around waiting for the crickets to fall from the sky! Anyway I am very excited to learn more about leos and their care. I have learned quite a bit from other forums and wanted to join this one as well. I was told it is an excellent source of information!
I have purchased my own leo and will have her shipped after my supplies for her tank arrive and everything is set up and equilabrated (plus the weather cooperates for shipping). My kids are excited to have a leo that is older so they can touch her; Jackie was very young when we got her and she moved too fast for the kids to feel comfortable interacting with her. We do enjoy watching her hunt for crickets and giggling when her tail twitches just before she gets the cricket! So cute!
Our new girl is very tame and I know we will just love her to pieces! It will be fun to watch Jackie grow up and be more like our new girl...Plus we have so much fun watching how her color changes as she sheds. We already have a name picked out for our new addition, but we may wait until she arrives to make sure it fits her personality before it's official.
I love to talk way too much! Okay I will stop; I am starting to babble! Anyway, I am glad to be here and look forward to meeting more geckos lovers!
