Hello all, I'm happy to have finally joined. I am the owner of 7 cresteds and sadly right now I have an emergency situation that I need help identifying if possible. Let me start by saying my crested are probably of the most spoiled and pampered critters on earth, I love them heart and soul. I have had 17 total with only one problem with a couple of them when I first started with a mild calcium deficiency that was quickly remedied. But now I have a female adult that is in distress for what reason I cannot tell. My sister who is a VMT was with me last night thinks it could be a pinched nerve. Symptoms are: almost aplexic meaning nuerological as she is having trouble lifting her legs almost like she's trying to climb over a small mound. She alternates between priods of rest with occasional fits. Her breathing is only slightly elevated. Very occasionally she starts thrashing and biting-VERY unlike her normally. She's normally very docile, sweet and kind. Does ANYBODY have any suggestions or input? Please know, due to recent financial crisis I cannot afford a vet sadly. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP! This began last night.

I wish I could help, but this does sound like a vet issue. Perhaps some forums that are more specifically devoted to Rhacs (in the old taxonomy) could be more helpful.
