So, since i'm new, figured best place to start is here! I'm a first time herp owner and picked a cute leo. My daughter has decided to call him Lizzy McGecko. She's adament he's a boy, even though I'm pretty certain he's too young to be sexed yet. I'm not sure how old he was when we got him at the pet store, but we've had him just over a month now and he's doing great as far as I can tell.
He was real skinny when we got him so I'm assuming he was still young, and since has put on a good amount of weight. He was real nervous around hands to begin with, but this week I've been working more with him and he's gotten better with handling. He's gotten comfortable enough to even walk across your lap!
He's a real pig, too! haha I swear I go through more and more crickies (as my daughter likes to call them) and mealworms every week. He's up to about 7 small crickies a day plus a few mealworms. Some of the crickies we get are pretty tiny. The local pet stores only have small and large. Large are way too big for him, and the small ones are so diverse in size. I wish they'd carry a "medium" haha

I could go on forever here, but I'll wrap this up. All I can say is I'm very happy with our new addition. So is my little girl. She just loves Lizzy.

thx! i can say i did a lot of research BEFORE actually buying my leo. I didn't want to get involved in something I couldn't handle. :main_thumbsup:

I'm originally from Mitchell, but have lived in sioux falls for the last 5 years now
