I am currently at work, a few minutes before I left I found my girl had laid 2 eggs. They appear to be hard with a little bit of a mushy area, they seem solid though. I had no time to do much before I left, I put them in a container with moist paper towl in her tank(she cannot touch them). Should they be fine when I get off in 5 hours? I marked them the way they were in the tank and I plan to put them in incubation on perilite when I get home.

I would think theyd be ok. You should be fine just place them in as soon as you get home and I wouldn't necessarily go by hardnessof the egg mine were soft but they are ertilelook on my thread "first time breeder struggles" page 2 to see pics. Just hold aflashlight to them in a dark room and look for veins or a bullseye like mine had. That will tell you, if it looks solid yellow with nothing inside I ould say not fertile but incubate anyway until it goes bad.

Alright, thanks. One weird thing, I "candled" my gecko many times since I saw her mate, including last night and I saw no eggs and I checked pretty thoroughly.

I got the eggs situated, they seem to be plumping up a bit, still have minor dents but looks like it is going to improve.

Can the eggs be candled right away after being laid or they need some development time in order to see the pink indicators or bullseye?

Sometimes it takes a few days before you can see obvious pink in the eggs. I usually just pull them out of the lay box, put them straight in the incubator, and then candle them after about a week if I am getting overly anxious. What's the hurry? I figure that it can only do more harm than good pulling them out and candling every day like some do.

Sometimes you can see the ring of veins, with the embryo in the center, but once in a while, it will take some time to develop before you can see it.
