I have two week old eggs cooking right now- they are between 83-84 degrees and i was using hatchright from LLL. I put them in the container from LLL and filled it up and baked them...

Now im wondering if i should not have used the deli cup... but used a closed container ( no holes on the side) instead..... anyway it was very dry so i added a few drops ( literally) of water to the hatchright. Should i do a damp papertowel? the other egg is fine.

the wet paper towel is not helping?

I use a plastic clear bowl, open it up once a week for air circulation.

If you got holes i would tape them shut place damp paper towel over them both.

Anyoneelse got some advice

i dont know... the bottom of the good egg ( as in the part facing down into the substrate) is flat now. and its going soft.

I'm taping the holes and putting them in new substrate.

omg. i could cry.

Our first baby ever hatched came from a horribly dented egg. Tape up the holes. Don't give up yet. They may still be ok. Good luck.

Just letting you know- the collapsed egg looks less dented now that I covered the holes in the tub. Also, the flat bottomed egg is still firm, and pink and looking ok. Perhaps it was just a freak thing.

Sound like we're still cookin babies?
