Can you provide a picture?

I don't know what you mean by the see-through patch.. also what temp. do the eggs finish incubating at? I am sure that is a typo, do you mean 91-92?

Hi the temp they finish at is 91 - 92. I dont want to move the egg incase it bursts so i wont be to take a pic of it! Sorry. The egg has grown & has gone banana shaped & has went see through in the middle so i can see the vains & the gecko inside! Im worried it mite split before its time to hatch as i think it mite have a few weeks left to go? It was laid 23rd jan unsure when it should hatch at these 2 temps? Thanks steve.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's getting ready to hatch by now. Can you see the gecko moving inside? It may be best to just leave it alone and let it hatch.

Yes i could see it moving! How long does it take at these 2temps to hatch do you know? 26 - 27 for 3wks then 90 - 92. Its the first time i have changed the temp like this im only doing it so i get nice bright raptors. Thanks steve.

I noticed this to some extent with an egg of mine last year. I came to the conclusion that as the baby grows inside the egg, and the egg expands, the shell must strech and eventually get pretty thin. I think that is is almost transparent in thses "strech mark" areas... I'd leave it alone, I would expect it to hatch soon.

I incubate at 80-81 only and have had hatches ranging from 54-65 days. I would imagine if you raised the temp that much, hatching would be much sooner.

Got up today to find that my large egg had collapsed (thought it had hatched) but the little fella had died in the egg! :-(

That sucks =[ My girlfriend and I woke up for our first 2 eggs this morning! Incubating at 81 so were hoping we get some hatchings in 60 days! This is our first batch so we are expecting the worst being our first shot, and hoping for the best!

in my thoughts
Egg "stretching" can be the cause of TOO much moisture in the incubation bedding! The egg soaks up to much water till it has stretched so much the egg becomes see through.
