help heating tubs!!

what can i do so that the uth doesnt melt plastic? tub is seperate. dont have a rack. are there any reasonbly priced tubs in stores that i would have to worrry about them melting?

if the uth is hot enough to melt plastic then i would not be putting my geckos on top of it , for the uth to be melting plastic means it is over 115 degrees or more and that is not very safe!

If you're using an undertank heater and don't have a thermostat, you can put the undertank heater under a ceramic tile (4 inch square) and that will dissipate the heat to around 85-90 even if you have no thermostat and leave it plugged in all day. You place the tile between the heater and the bottom of your tank. It might vary a bit based on the type of undertank heater, but have tested this numerous times and works each time for me. (I have verified the temperature numerous times)
