Great to hear. Also, I wish mine would just chill with me. She doesn't panic, but she always wants to crawl around. I'm gonna have to set her up an area of my room she can screw around in.
How old is your gecko? I got mine in July and she was pretty little. They evidently mellow a lot when they reach maturity. I just got lucky with my Lucy...she was super easy to tame from the get go.
Give yours time Phantom! I handle Lucy almost everyday but I dont just go in and grab her. 95% of the time I let it be her idea. I put my hand in there palm up and usually have to wait 2-10min for her to decide to come over lol...shes a little hard headed lol. But a majority of the time she will decided to come over and climb up. Then I handle her for 10-20 min...let her run around my bed, sit on my shoulder etc and I put her back in her house. Then she gets fed...so she associates the being handled with a positive...feeding time!
I had to be patient with her for sure but it has paid off big time. Last piece of advice is to always be very gentle.
I'm so glad she's home safe and sound! One of my cresties zipped past me and out of her cage last week, then hid in the storage room. It took me about two hours to find her. She's at the teenage spazz-out stage.
Try tipping her tank onto its side and make her enclosure on the side so it feels like home. Good idea using her food, have you ever fed her treats before? If you have try setting those out too. Butterworms have a strong smell and if she's lost in what sounds like the walls she may smell her way out?
