Hello,

4 weeks ago I gave my leo three butterworms. I found the 3 butterworms in his enclosure the next day (undigested) - so he must have puked them out. A few days later he ate about 4 waxworms. He has not eaten since.

I was trying to feed him again today but he still wasn't interested. I picked him up and noticed discharge coming from his eye (see photo).

I don't know what to do. I don't live near an exotic vet. Please help!

Keep cleaning the eye with warm water. Don't feed your gecko waxworms; they are not that nutritious. Some geckos have had a bad response to butterworms. Go back to the basics: mealworms, crickets, dubia roaches. Your gecko may be a little hesitant to eat due to recent bad experience but keep offering. It's OK if it doesn't eat for awhile. These guys can go quite awhile without eating. Monitor the eye. If it gets swollen or even more crusty you're gong to have to find some kind of vet care, even if you take it to a regular vet and ask if they can do a telehealth consult with a reptile vet. Good luck!
