Here I am!
My friends have a leopard gecko thats 7-9 years old. In the last month it has stopped eating and drinking, it seems lethargic and its eyes have dried in to shrivels because of sand residue/a dirty cage they say. It will move and respond to touch and disturbance.
The temp. In her cage is 86 fer. and the warmest spot is about 90 fer. They dont have a humidity thing in there but Im guessing there isnt much because the lamp is huge and there is a screen top.

I will tell them about changing substrate.
They have a little bowl of small mealies but she isnt able to eat them because of her shriveled eyes. She has water available too and is drinking if you put her feet into it.
I'll add pics in a second. Her tail looks thin, too.
What can be done to help her? Does anyone have experience with strange, shriveled eyes?

Sorry for lack of update. The vet told them to change the substrate to repicarpet so they did. They started dropping her eyes daily with contact stuff. She is doing better now, and they are hand feeding her with mealworms. Thanks!

I'm curious, what kind of sand were they using? Did the gecko have any other issues, like vitamin deficiencies?

They were using the calcium sand. I dont think they said anything about calcium defficencies... They do also supplement her with reptile calcium powder on her food.
