Hi, we recently purchased this gecko from a pet store and I was wondering if anyone could help me ID the morph? She is a female, approx. 6-8 weeks according to the pet store.
yea looks much older than 6-8 weeks it pattern is spread its looks around 2-3 months
Also im pretty sure its a Normal high yellow morph,
It also looks like it has a regenerated tail tip
It hard to confirm how old a gecko is by pictures or its weight. Some geckos can grow alot faster than others. One of my hatchlings (who was small to begin with) hatched on 8/9 @ 2.5g. On 10/9 he weighed 30g (gained 27.5g in 8 weeks) Some can grow even faster. Unless you know a hatch date its hard to say either way.
It looks like a high yellow or a tang to me. Its hard to tell from the picture (because of the shade of the cup) if the gecko is yellow or more of an orange color. If its yellow its probably a High Yellow. If its more orange its probably a Tang.
I thought it was between those two. I'll have to look at her later when I feed her and see whether yellow or orange is more dominant. I didn't notice the tail, thanks for pointing it out!
I would assume the pet store (Pet Smart) wasn't 100% on her age, I do remember she was the biggest in the tank out of about 4-6 leos; she was about 1/3 bigger. I wanted to order from a breeder, but my parents got a little excited and jumped the gun lol I think she's pretty great though and am having a blast learning about her.
Thanks everyone for your help!
