I have a female red strip that keeps on getting this brown goop in her eyes that seals them shut. I have/had many leaopard geckos and she is the only one with this. If you know anything please help me out on how to care/get rid of it.
Thanks,
Steve
Sounds like she could have had a bad shed, however, what kind of substrate are you using? What else is in the cage?
My Edna will have a bad shed and it gets stuck in the eye causing irritation. I'd say take the gecko to the vet and see what they say, but, you can also flush the eye out with luke-warm (not hot) water and a syringe without a needle.
Her humid hide which I keep a little damper than my other leos has a peat moss base. I believe it may be a shed issue but when I take a 30x loupe to look I don't see any. I've always just used a warm moist paper towel to clean and moisten her eyes. Its frustrating since she's quite a looker and mellow ...until you clean out her eyes. once your done shes your buddy.
