help me please....flexwatt

i recived my flexwatt today along with connectors and everything.but its saying im supposed to use there special 80 dollar crimping tool. cant i use my regular crimping tool and still be okay? also if i went the soldering route would that be better.my main concern is for safety .. please help thanks

depends on the connection, with a 110 volt main line use a twist connection, like you see in housing fixtures, if it is electronics, solder is the best. take pics and i can help more./

I soldered all of my heat tape and everything is working out just fine over here.
Good luck with your project!

Oh yeah, before you staple or tape it down let it heat up and get hot. If you staple it down while it is cold it will buckle on you. Just make sure to unplug it before you start stapling.

I would honestly just take a hammer to the connectors, no need for a $80 crimping tool after that. I connected my heat tape by using wire connectors with the metal circle and with the end to crimp your wire into, and all i did was connect my wire to them then took a screw and screwed it into the metal part of the heat tape securing the connector to it, works fine for me.
