Have got a big tupperware tub, you could maybe put Bizzle in that, and leave the whole tub in your vivarium, half on the hot side and half on the cool side?

Probably not the best solution, but it's better than keeping them together.

Something like the bottom tub in this pic

If there's a Poundland in Essex, try there, I got a great tub in there last week for £1

Yeah, they'd be too small.
The gecko would be able to climb out of it too.

I'd go for a big tupperware tub, failing that a shoebox?

Something big enough so that it could still walk about a bit, but something with high enough sides so that it can't climb out ... plastic would be better as it's claws wouldn't be able to get purchase on it to climb out.

I think your gonna have to take her (?) to the vet or I fear your going to lose her.

You should keep them seperated until you find out what exactly is wrong with it and have that dealt with.

Im by no means an expert, I've only had geckos for a month, so take anything I say with a pinch of salt until someone with more knowledge and experience comes along.

There are some vets (charity type practices) that will look at your animals for free if your unemployed, also some will allow you to make monthly payments to the animals treatment, you should maybe look into something like that.

If neither of those are an option, you should probably think about giving her away to someone who's willing to do what it takes to get her back to full health. Sorry to say that, but I think that's the best option.

do you know what they said?

they said to leave it, they said that if she dies i can buy another one, they said going to the vet would be way more expensive than buying a new one
firstly a fecal test here in the UK averages out at £15 and even with any treatment costs etc it's still a lot cheaper then buying a new leo
secondly ~ and importantly your parents should be aware of this ~ here in the UK as of 2007 it became law under the Animal Welfare Act that owners (or parents of owners if child is under 16) must ensure that all the welfare and health needs of their animals are met.... that includes getting your leo the correct treatment it needs ;)

^Exactly. A vet visit is necessary I think.. small reptile or not, it's a living being that shouldn't be so disposable to your parents.

any vet will do a fecal test but ideally you should find a rep vet ~ here is the link I posted earlier ~ RCVS ~ all you have to do on that site is put in your post code it'll give you a list of vets near you

yup i went on that earlier, exotic pets, do leos come under that??

Yes, Leos are exotics.

Good luck with your little one, I agree with the others to try to get it to a vet and try to make some of Marcia's slurry to get some nutrients back in her.

I find it very hard to accept this "disposable pet" mentality. Part of the responsibility of pet ownership is providing it's proper care. Letting a sick gecko waste away and die just so you can go get another one is inhumane and cruel.

If this poor little gecko survives, it will be a miracle. It is on death's door right now, and probably has some sort of parasitic or bacterial infection. If your geckos are in the same enclosure and drinking out of the same water bowl, it is very likely your other gecko will wind up in the same condition.

Please convince your parents that you love this gecko and do not want it to die. If it's about money, maybe you could offer to do chores or go and clean someone's house to show your parents you are willing to help pay for a veterninary visit for your sick gecko. It's unfortunate that some people do not accept that reptiles are living creatures that deserve our care... just like any other pet.

If you havn't already, switch off the sand at least until you are sure everything is fine. Seperating them is very important to keeping your other leo safe from whatever parasite or bacteria is infecting your leo. Make sure you keep the cage as clean as possible (clean out poo whenever you see it, cleaning water bowls, etc.) too.

I have turned a gecko around on slurry after an infection - she was 18 grams at her lowest, couldn´t lift her head or open her mouth, but she made it - it is possible - best of luck to you.

i am in the EXACT same position as you. my Bella stopped eating about 3 months after we got her, and she is also in the cage with another gecko.
this is how skinny she is :

0303091529a.jpg
0306091826.jpg

she's been like this for about 4 months now and ive spent close to $400 at the vet. she has an excessive amount of amoebas, and weve tried everything from the forcefeeding to the meds thru seringes, and now we're on the last step of injections in the back of the leg. she seems to be getting somewhat better, every once in awhile she'll eat a mealworm or 2.
DEFINITELY seperate the 2 geckos, its absolutely essential. my other gecko is much bigger than the sick one, and i can tell she feels threatened about eating because of the difference in weight. Bella is only 9 grams :(
also, the vet said that even i can contract the amoebas/parasites from my gecko, so the other gecko definitely can.
anyways, there is hope for your lil leo :main_thumbsup:
take good care of her & i know its alot of money to spend on her but its so worth it!
make sure you tell your vet that you want to do everything possible as quickly as possible. my vet was BSing around for a bit, running tests, etc. and giving me meds that did not seem to be working. finally we went to the saringe, but she started refusing to take it. i told him that i knew there was a way to inject the medication and he kinda looked at me like "ugh".
be very persistent! some vets are mean and dont take our lil guys seriously!

anyways sorry about the ramble i just wanted to let you knwo youre not the only one out there going thru this! i know how sad and terrifying it can be :(
best of luck to you and Blizzle! keep your hopes up!
