Hi,

I,ve got this female since 2010 and I have yet to breed her. Recently I tried introducing a male to her and she ended up attacking back the male when he tries to get on her.

What seem sto be the problem?

Thanks

You just posted about what morphs you'll get with your geckos. DO NOT mix albino strains. Most of your threads have been about your sick Leos, so why do you want to breed them...?
Please learn a lot more before you start breeding... And again don't mix your Mack rainwater with your het Tremper.

Were you able to figure out what the blood clotting was with your male? Any discovery that indicates an issue with the hemipenes, probably wouldn't be a good idea to try to breed him so soon.

I am not mixing albino strains, it's two shtcts.. The sick gecko has died due to infections.. Sorry for not updating the thread

Infections? Cloudy eyes? Clots? Deaths?

You are either the UNLUCKIEST gecko owner in the world, or youre doing something wrong.

If see atacks him see is not ovulating. If you can't keep the geckos you already have healthy you should not even consider bringing more into the mix.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments and your concern. FYI, the gecko that had problems are some of the rescued stock that a local breeder was about to get them culled, few of them died before Juvie stage but one that died recently managed to survive till adulthood with lots of problems including prolapse, eye / shedding problems etc.

I have not been breeding geckos before as I do not have the time till recently I acquired a pair of shtct to try out my luck. Till then I posted about the female fighting back when approached by the male.

I would appreciate that you guys save those unnecessary comments, what I would like to know is only the problem that was stated earlier. For the rest of the comments and concern, I thank you guys very much but it was not needed in this case.

Thank you

False, you've had many sick geckos. (whether it's your fault or this breeder) you just said you don't have the time or knowledge. Itd be different if you had used the search function for the tons of threads exactly like this one. It makes me uneasy how shady and vague you are.... So yes, I can have concern and speak to you about it. It has nothing to do with me trying to get your feelings hurt. More so, you need to not breed geckos IMO if you have no time and you take in many sick geckos....

Well, I do not have to prove anything to you. If you think it's false, then please go ahead, I am just here seeking for info. If u think that there are already previous threads addressing this matter then it's better u ignore this thread. You may be a professional breeder while I'm just a newbie. Regarding your concern I thank you very much but I do not need them as once again, I'm seeking information regarding the topic and not your concern.

Thanks

I think most would agree that you have not done your research yet. There are tons of care sheets and tons of threads that state how they won't breed unless the female is ovulating. And there are many pics of ovulation. I'm not saying you should never breed, I'm just saying that you should do a lot more research and probably wait another season or two. And do you have enough enclosures to house all the babies? To heat them all? Do you already have an incubator? Lay medium? Incubation medium? Do you know how to calculate the correct water to vermiculite(or perlite) ratio? Do you have a local herp vet in case your female becomes egg bound or the male has a prolapse?

No we are not trying to scare you or anyone out of breeding. I am a bit of a newb myself. We just want anyone and everyone who decides to breed to have as much knowledge as possible. It's nothing personal. It's about the well being of the animals.

i don't think anyone on this forum should give him info on breeding them so he dosen't try breeding them and hurting them but then he might just be an idiot and try to wing it without proffesional advice and kill them anyways. why dont you put the geckos first and be happy with what you have and quit bein so selfish to have more and put ALL the animals health at risk
