Well this season is my first year breeding as some of you know. In every tub( I house everyone on their own.) I keep a dish full of calcium without d3. And have calcium with d3 in the mealworm dishs to act as a dust because its hard to dust mealies. All my adults seem fine and I see them eating calcium daily almost while I've never seen any of my hatchlings eat it.
Today I was spraying my moist hides and noticed my rrs hatchling was dragging her back legs behind her while running. When I picked her up she turned around and bit her self in the leg. After that 5 mins later she was walking normally, I came back a second ago and her front lets were stiff and not moving and she was getting around like a snake. It was so sad I didn't know what to do.... im no expert and im fairly new to this hobby but I came to the conclusion that she had MBD. Im going to pick up some zilla spray calcium liquid from my local pet store after work to start giving her it twice daily. Should I supplement my hatchlings more often or for what reason do you think this accured? Is there anything else I can do? I feel so horrible for letting her develope it even. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Well she has been walking around fine but randomly looses the ability to walk at all. She took the calcium liquid fine. But she had like a back leg seizure then could not walk for about 2 or 3 mins afterwards. She looses control of all four legs and lays and wiggles trying to move but soon can get up and walk away. Is this MBD or can geckos have strokes or seizures? It makes me sad watching her.

Geckos CAN have seizures...

I think this situation is pretty serious and far beyond any of our capacities to help you...I think it's time for a trip to the vet...I post this link quite a bit...http://www.herpvetconnection.com/ scroll down to see a list of states w/ herp vets...

Good luck...feel free to keep us updated!

Im sorry to say that I just checked on her and she had passed away. Yesterday she was hunting, eating, drinking and doing everything perfect with no signs of any illness. What could this have been? Her clutchmate is still acting normal so I have no clue.
