Welcome to GF!

Typically, there is no effect, at least not from my experience. When I have mine shipped, they have to go by plane. As long as it isnt too hot or too cold, they are fine.

Leos wouldn't really lose a noticeable amount of weight overnight. Shipping can cause stress and they can dehydrate but it shouldn't cause a tail or body to look drastically thinner.

You can upload a photo by clicking Go Advanced under the text box then click the Paperclip symbol to upload a photo. You can also upload them to a hosting site then paste the

That gecko's underweight, and probably dehydrated. Not to mention, it has a couple very noticable tail kinks. Hopefully there's no underlying illness causing its extremely thin appearance. Good Luck!

How sad. The gecko is in terrible condition. I would contact the seller and demand some sort of refund if you were supposed to get a healthy gecko.

If it's illegal, I really can't approve of any trade you may be taking for these animals. Smuggling is horrible for animals... 90% die, and those that don't soon die upon arrival. Not to mention that this looks extremely bad for the reptile community as a whole.

If I were you, I'd stop participating in this illegal trade. It is illegal in my state (Georgia) to own corn snakes despite how common they are in the reptile trade, and I respect the laws. Who knows what else is being traded illegally? You could be funding the smuggling of endangered animals, you have no way of knowing! This is highly irresponsible and greedy of you.
