We are new to the spotted leopard gecko world and need some help. We discovered this in our tank today. The kids swear they didn't put it in the tank. Thanks in advance.
Yes, it is a leopard gecko egg. From the looks of it, it is infertile. Do you have a male and a female or just a female? It's not too common, but some females do lay eggs without a male present. They are infertile. If you have a male and female together and are not prepared to incubate the eggs, I'd recommend separating them. If you just have a female, unless she was with a male before you got her, she is likely laying infertile eggs. Most leopard geckos lay 2 eggs at a time (she could have laid only 1 egg, or there is another one buried in the tank) every 2 weeks or so and can lay from one to more than 10 clutches during breeding season. Your best bet for getting more info is to google "leopard gecko breeding" and read as much as you can.
