I have a leo approx. 7-9 months old, when I first got her from a breeder she was healthy and eating great, about 2 weeks ago she stopped eating, tail is skinny and she had some mucousy green diarrhea last night. I went to check on her this morning and she has layed a egg. She has been by herself since I got her. She is in a 20L, UTH, temps about 90 - 92 degrees on warm side, 1 humid hide and 2 regular hides( 1 hide on warm side, 1 hide on cool side.) She had been eating mealworms before she quit eating. She is kept on paper towels. Anyone have any ideas on what to do next, could she have stopped eating because she was egg bound and finally passed the egg? What do I do next?

thanks so mcuh

What substrate so you have in her humid hide. We just went through something similar with an older female who was eating whatever we put in her lay box (vermiculite, coco husk, sphagnum) and was holding on to two eggs. I did warm water soaks several times a day and put moist paper towel in her lay box and she finally laid the eggs. This was only two days ago but her appetite hasn't picked back up yet either. I suspect she may still have some laybox substrate to expel.

Was there only one egg or do you think there's one more?

There is eco earth in her humid hide, but she laid the egg where she
would normally defecate. There was only 1 egg.

Ellie is doing the same. 1 egg 4 days ago where she normally poops. She was fat and had a real nice fat tail before the egg. now shes getting skinny, she closes her eyes alot and just mopes around. today I caught her with her head up, eyes shut and mount slightly open. I just dont get it. I dont know whats wrong with her.

Supersixfour, if you look at her belly does it look like there's still a large egg inside her? Sometimes females do lay single infertile eggs but the majority of the time they come in twos. If it looks like there's still an egg you might want to start doing warm water soaks.
