Hi,

One of my female sunglow(14 month old) laid 2 eggs 5 month ago and she didn't produce any until now.
What I found out that it just looks like 2 eggs in her stomach (not 100% sure).
But she just act like normal...
Eat and poop like normal...
I gave her mealworms, superworms and cricket as diet...
Is she having egg bound?

I breed her a month ago but until now she still haven't lay anything yet...

Can any pros here tell me what happen?
Anyway to prevent egg bound?
Or anything I can do if it happen?

P/S - don't ask me bring her to vet coz all the vet here only accept Dogs and Cats...Sorry.

I'm sure there is a vet somewhere within reach that treats reptiles. Part of being a reptile owner is accepting that you may have to travel for a vet. The vet I last used is a 3 hour drive from me.

Which country are you from? If you put that in your profile, they'll stop asking you to go to a reptile vet if they see where you're from :p We just have to accept that not every country allows reptiles as pets, or provides skilled and specified veterinary care for them. Most of us are spoiled and accept it as a given! ;)

Sometimes, the females reabsorb the eggs. So if she's eating and pooping fine, you might notice that the eggs you see through her belly will go away if she doesn't lay them. But if she gets thin and sick, there's probably nothing you can do, since sometimes surgery is necessary to remove the eggs when she is really egg bound, and only a reptile vet can do that. Here's a picture of a female that died from egg-binding (careful, *graphic*). I bought that picture from DragoonGecko.

So let's hope she either passes the eggs or reabsorbs them. Egg-binding is very rare! You're probably lucky. :main_yes:
