Okay this all happened around 7o'clock pm today. Okay, I put some crickets in a tub. My crested hasn't eat crickets yet. I was going to put my crested in the tub so I picked up the vine it was on and put it in the tub and she walked off onto the tub. Then she freaked out. She ran all through out the tub and climbed the wall and ran around. Then she just stopped. She would not move at all. I thought she was dead. I slid her around in the tub and she flipped over. My grandma came up and flipped her back over and she moved her leg a little bit. Then she would not move. (she wouldn't move for 20min.) Then I thought she was thirsty because her tank was completly dry because I hadn't been there since 7 that morning. SO I squrted her with water. SHE MOVED!! then I squirted in her face and she drank a little bit but she just stuck her tongue out and didn't pull it back in. Then my grandma picked her up and put her in her cage after I had moisted every bit of. I gave her some cgd and she hasn't moved since we put her in there. Is she exhausted from spazzing out? Was she dehydrated? Help and say any possible thing that could of happened.

Its hard to understand everything that is going on
did you take you crestie out of the cage to feed him?
how old is he
how long have you had him
\is this your first time feeding him crickets?
post some pics of him
That info should help people give you a better answer

The behavior you talk about sounds odd to me.
If you took him out of the tnk to feed him then he is most likely just scared of that new environment

Oh no, I'm so sorry you had to go through all that! Were there any factors that could have changed suddenly like temperature? Or anything that could have fallen in the tank and caused trauma?

I am so sorry for your loss. Could he have died from stress. I have read that certain types of reptiles can be easily stressed and die from it but I am not sure if that would apply to a creastie. Had he been acting normal up until the cricket episode?

Sorry for your loss. As for what happened, my first thought would be the temp got too high or low at some time, or the humidity was too low for too long. But it could be a ton of other things, seizure, long term impaction, dehydration, a hidden illness, or just stress. Was she eating ok before this and did she poop regularly? How many crickets were in the tub with her? Again sorry for your loss.

I really think that it was stress. Sometimes a new situation really stresses them out and yours had two. He was not only in a new enviorment but there was new things crawling around him. I hate to compare it to fish but I see it a lot at work. Fish will get stressed out, spazz and then die. Dont blame yourself because you didnt know any better. We all have to learn from our mistakes, unfortunatly you lost a dear pet. I'm very sorry for your loss!!

Thanks everyone. The humidity and temp stayed the same the whole time. And i do think it was stress. I will be getting a new one soon anyway so i hope he wont do that.

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost a young crested gecko recently, too. It's a very sad thing to find.:(
