So I got two cans of Lime Pop paint today :D and I'm dying to paint but I have ONE problem I have this huge hole in my wall among other imperfections that is killing me to look at and obviously can't paint until I get it fixed.

Here's the eye sore.. It's right above my bed. When the painted a few years ago that area pucked up and chipped. Since paint was just chiping an getting ugly I decided to make it uglier by peeling the paint, Lol. My hope was to get the paint to a place where it wouldn't chip anymore because I was scared of the dog or cat eating it but it didn't work because I can still peel it off so I decided to leave it alone.

Someone told me to peel off the entire wall then paint on the wall itself. Someone else told me to just get some plaster to patch it up, another one told me to just "fill it" with paint. Another person told me screw it and move, lol...

For those of you that know how to paint and know about this type of stuff what do you think is that best option...

And as a bonus here's the can of paint :main_yes:

A little bright and bold but its exactly what I've been looking for!!! I did a small test patch on a wall to see what too coats would look like and I'm in LOVE!

Holey moley, that's bright paint! :main_cool3:

It would help to know why the paint peeled in the first place.

Was there moisture in the wall?
Was latex paint used over oil based paint without using primer?

Is wall actually plaster or is it sheetrock?

Is the paint really loose on the whole wall or just in one area?

I love the paint it's exactly what I wanted!

I wish I knew why the paint peeled in the first place.

There doesn't seem to be any moisture in the wall. Last year we had a leak on the opposite wall that was repaired and has been fine ever since. As for what the paint is I have no idea or what it's on because we didn't do it our selfs and this was done in like middle school so it was a LONG time ago.

If I knew the difference between plaster and sheetrock I'd tell you. The wall itself is that white patch in the middle. It's a little dusty if you touch it. It's also covered in a layer of grayish white that seems to be thicker than the paint and is also a little dusty. On top of that we have the actually paint that doesn't seem to want to stick to it. It peels off without any problems as if it doesn't want to attach to it.

The paint is loose all over the place that just the biggest patch on my wall. Theres like 4 other areas in my room alone and a bunch of other place through out the apartment. It lifts up for any little thing. We can hardly hammer in a nail because once we take it out the entire paint on the way lifts up. ugh.

Thats what I need to remember to get primer! Well scraping it doesn't seem that hard since I took off a big part of it in a matter or minutes.

I'm thinking of scraping it then plastering some holes I have from a poster then prime then paint. Does that sound good?
