I have offered to do a lecture on leopard geckos for a class here at VT. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

What I need most are pictures (different morphs, MBD victims, eggs, ovulating female, gravid female, etc). If you help me out I will put your name & business name, as well as your website address in the lecture, if you wish. If you can think of a topic I should cover (and wouldn't generally think about), please let me know.

MODS: I was also wondering if it would be alright to pump GF during the lecture, as this forum has taught me almost all I know about leos.

I'll post anything else I might need help with here.

Thanks everyone!

Feel fee to edit out the ugly blue text, I was on that kick a few years ago..

I'd like credit to one of my sites if you use it, but you choose.. MatthewKammerer.com would probably be best. I will look for more useful ones.

Who is your audience? That would help to understand what topics you'd need to discuss.

It's for a college level class, which should consist mostly of Animal Sciences majors.

Thanks so much for the pictures Jeanine. And I will definitely put at least one of your sites on there .... or would you prefer all of them?

I want to thank everyone who has helped me so far.

I'm now also looking for info on MBD. I've been looking for MBD and can't find a definite list of symptoms or pictures.

Thanks!

I kno there are some about mbd because I think I remember golden gate geckos having a issue with heat and too much heat caused symptoms. You are more then welcome to use any of my geckos or pictures in your presentation. I am going to be a vet too. Just a long road a head of me. My site is below!

I usually don't bump old threads, but I just got the date for my lecture as it is now official. Feb 14th! I'm so excited. So for those of you who contacted me months ago about this I'll get in touch with you soon, and for anyone else who wants to help please let me know. As I mentioned before I'll put your name/company name in the presentation and website, if you wish. I need pictures of morphs, stages of pregnancy, MBD, and various other things. I also need scientific info on both crypto and MBD. All help is VERY appreciated.

MODS: I never got a yes or no on mentioning GF in the presentation. I would really like to. :D

Congrats, David and I did this one time for a highschool aged class, we brought like 1 of each morph that we had [including combos, and 1 of each type of albino] and talked genetics, recessive and dominant traits, gene locus, drew up punnetts squares, etc. Gave examples like "this, bred to this, will give you animals that look like this" Its nice to have practical examples for the stuff you never payed attention to in highschool. Feel free to use my pictures, tho you wont find any of them on our site that are worthwhile, just do a search through the threads I have started, and the ones started by dirtystinkystuff.

Tamara I'm not sure whether or not the professor wants me to get into genetics too deep. The class I'm doing this for is a Care of Companion Animals class. But if she wants genetics I'm definitely going to get in touch with you.

Christina I wish you still had the presentation toooo. That would have helped. But I can do this. I just need pics and some info on diseases. (I think :) )

John I would love to get that sand impaction pic from you. I don't have one of those yet and it will definitely drive home the point on not using sand. I'll PM :D

I'm still looking for an MBD pic and most morphs. As well as any good sources of info on both MBD and crypto.

Well I can't help you a whole lot with that...but this was my girl Brook who had a mild case of mbd (she came to me with it...)...

Don't know if you want a photo of a mild case **shrug** The bowed legs and "crouched" posture are "early" signs. She is a super hypo tangerine carrottail. If you do use it I would appreciate having my name and website cited. :)
