OK!!
I finally have lots of tiny mealies and have gotten rid of all the beetles (since they have finished doing their thing).

Now, all I have is the beading (Fluker's cricket chow) and zillions of baby
mealies, so small, you need a magnifier to see them.

My question is, I have not put any moisture in there at all through the whole
breeding process. At what point do I need to start suppling moisture like
apple, potato, etc. for them?

I do want these guys to live and grow :main_yes:

Go ahead and give it to them now. Did you get rid of the beetles while they were still alive or had they died? I also give the beetles moisture while they are breeding.

I would start now. I use the Flucker's cricket quencher for moister, and i will sometimes throw in some apples.

How long did it take your beetles to lay the eggs and hatch?

I personally put in a slice of potato right away this way I can get a rough estimate of how many mealies I got in the container because they all start gathering around the potato and eating it. I could be wrong but it works for me.:)

Thanks for the replies guys. :)

Yeah, some of the beetles where dead when I took them out, but
most where alive.
I guess I will throw some potato in there when I get home.

Okay, I just put a few slices of potato in there.

I really can only see (w/ magnifier) about 50 or so tiny babies, but I assume
there are alot that I cant see yet because they are so tiny!?

I know there has to be a bunch of them in there, because, although I cant see them, I can see the beding move slightly.

How long will it take before I can acually see them w/o my magnifing glass?
