Hello! I was hoping someone could identify what morphs we have. I honestly don't care, these are our pets and babies, but I felt silly when I was asked and I was like uhhhhh??? Haha. I love these little girls so much and know so much about them that it's like okay you need to know this.

First off is Iggy, we got her from a not so great pet store (my husband saw her and fell in love) and we took her home and nursed her back to health. She's missing some toes from her upbringing :( but now she's so spoiled and happy. :)

Iggy now, after her last shed.

Then we have Smaugy. We picked her up from a much better pet store, they actually only work with local breeders and they are so super knowledgeable, but I totally forgot to ask. Derp.

So if you have any idea what morphs they are I would love to know. Thank you so much!

I would call Iggy a hypo and Smaugy is a murphy's patternless.

They both look a bit thin, so I am wondering if you house them together?

No I don't house them together, I actually just put them in nice big 20 longs. I feed them every day. They get crickets, meal worms, supers (sometimes) and I've started adding in roaches now that I have a local supply. how would you help them gain weight? I'm surprised to hear this I thought they were growing accordingly. Smaugy is like 3-4 months old and Iggy is like 6-7 months old (I think) I know neither of them are close to a year old yet. I always worry about over feeding them, actually. Should I be feeding them more then? Like I seriously had someone tell me Iggy was getting fat. So I'm now quite confused. Thank you :)

Their growth looks good (which means they are not being underfed), but I do think they could put on a little bit of weight. It sounds like they are eating okay, so I would just feed them a bit more. =) See how Smaugy's tail is in the first picture (the younger one)? I always like their tails to look right around there. Thicker than the base, but not crazy huge. Their tails should just look nice and plump. Having some extra fat on the tail is a good thing because it gives you buffer room for hunger strikes (usually caused by winter coming or ovulation in females). It's great that you're worried about over feeding because I think people don't worry about that enough. But it's only something to worry about it your gecko is obese (I usually consider a gecko obese when it starts storing fat on its body because its tail is so big).

Anyways, if you're having issues keeping weight on them, there is nothing wrong with adding a few waxworms every week. Some people prefer not to feed waxworms because they are so high in fat, but I think they are great for this situation where the geckos are eating well and getting enough nutrition but just need to put on a little fat.

I couldn't find a picture of what I consider exactly ideal, but this is pretty close:

He's a little on the heavy side, but I prefer this weight over too thin. Since he is this big, I feed him very little and he maintains this very well.
