Hey guys, I walked in my room today, and saw one of my leopard geckos laying on the ground by the door, my fiance was like I thought you said these things cant get out!! I was like OMG! I reached down to pick him up, and he was just curled up cause he was so cold... I dont know how long he has been off of his heat, it could have been all day, which is actually the least of my worries, I have two cats, and one of them got ahold of him... His tail is bit really bad, almost all the way off, about 1/4 the way down from the base... it isn't bleeding, but it is bloody looking, and he isn't moving too much, so I made him a little cage with just paper towls and a small water dish... What can I do for him until I can get him to the vet? Anything I can put on it? Anything I can do? it has fuzz on it and around his tail... I just dont know what to do.... Please any help would be great!!

Thank you!

Keep him warm. Put a little neosporin on the tail. Don't handle him. Give him the night to recover and maybe tomorrow you could carefully put a few drops of water on his nose so he can lick them off and stay hydrated. Hopefully the tail is the only injury, though he could have internal injuries if the cat got him badly. Figure out how he got out so you can prevent it happening again. Don't worry if he drops his tail. If that's the only problem he can survive that.

Good luck. Hoping for the best.
