Okay, so if you looked at my thread in housing, you would know I recently found out a shelf my friend is making for me cannot be used. Simply because its made of spruce and it's harmful to reptiles.

If you know a site that lists safe wood products to use for housing for reptiles can you send it to me or post it. If you know wood that is safe, feel free to post.

I would say no. Only because it gives off similar compounds as cedar. Some say you can bake the pine, but I wouldnt risk it

Pine and spruce are related and can be harmful to your geckos. If you are looking to build cage furniture I would use kiln dried maple or cypress. You want to make sure the wood was not treated with any chemicals. You can acquire either at a wood working store or countless places on line. Just do a web search.
