Hi, ive recently bought a leopard gecko (about 4 weeks ago), its about 5 months old. The worry is its eating habit, its not consistent. We are feeding crickets and mealworms, sometimes it eats and sometimes it doesnt, but it has now gone 3 days without eating, im worried. Any advice please?

Whats your set up. Tank size, heating method, temps, hides and so on. Also a pic provided may reveal something to the trained eye.

Thanks for your reply, its now been 5 days since its eaten. Vivarium is 18", ive got a sand floor, heat pad under tank on one side which temperature is 30 degrees, cool side of tank is 20 degrees. Ive got 2 hides (caves), one on warm side and one on cool side with damp moss in, this is the cave its always in, water dish and calcium also in tank.

you will be asked many times to please remove sand to prevent impaction, use any substrate that is not loose i.e paper towels, tiles, repti carpet, etc.

As states, remove the sand, its possible that your animal is impacted. That would be bad, very very bad. You need 3 hide idealy. 1 hot, 1 humid and 1 cool. Those temps are very off. The hot side needs to be atleast 33c and the cool side should be around 25.5c and 27c. get the temps up and you should see some eating, and before all that remove the sand. Papper towel works great.
