Coco fiber should hold moisture well, they last at least 3-4 days before they even start to get dry. What container are you using for the laybox?

I was using a plastic takeout box but I switched to a Styrofoam one. If I have to, I'll just ho get some plastic food storage containers and make a bunch of new hides with an overhead entrance instead of side entrance.

The styrofoam bowl may be why you can't keep moisture. If you get a gladware container, with a hole on the top, it should hold moisture very well.

I do agree. I use Gladware or Ziplock containers; and they work great at keeping the coco fiber nice and moist!!

Right now, I my checking all the moist hides for eggs, so I mix it up and just spray water on top, if needed, to keep it nice and moist.

That raises another question. Do you think that checking lay boxes daily would keep the female from laying there?
I believe, it is what your girls get use to. I check and spray, if needed, their lay boxes in the am and in the evening. I have had all six of my girls lay in their boxes. I actually interrupted one:main_lipsrsealed:....I popped the lid and then realized she had laid one, and was getting ready to lay number 2. It was an... oops, sorry...put lid back on, and waited a few hours. She had finished, and covered them up.:main_yes:

Okay cool. I'll try and make routine with it. Its been about a week since Lily laid and now I have a proper lay box and she is eating well. I'm going on "vacation" tuesday to Friday, and will also be away that Friday night to Sunday evening. So maybe I will come back to some noticeable eggs?! :D I hope so. also, eggs will be sitting in the incubator undisturbed for a week so maybe I'll come home with some plumped up eggs, too. Idk. We will see
